Aligning Pain Care

IPMA and Mayo Clinic Health System Southwestern Wisconsin, supported through an unrestricted educational grant from Pfizer, have joined forces to pursue a safe opioid prescribing educational and performance improvement initiative. Our project, Aligning Pain Care, combines educational sessions, Maintenance of Certification Part 4 quality improvement efforts and coordination with the public health community in La Crosse and the surrounding counties affected by the project.

The goal of our project is to improve safe opioid prescribing practices by improving use of the Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa prescription drug monitoring programs, and increasing the use of medical agreements, urine drug screens and depression screens for chronic, non-cancer, pain patients. Listed below are resources that have been used throughout the project.
